The Remington Rolling Block is a single-shot, breech-loading rifle that was produced by Remington. First designed by Joseph Rider in 1864, the original Rolling Block design was finalized too late to see action in the American Civil War. However, it would go on to see extensive military use throughout the later half of the 1800s. Militarized Rolling Blocks would be produced in numerous calibers and would see use by Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Spain, Egypt, Argentina, and many other nations. The Rolling Block was also very popular on the civilian market and was prized by hunters. Its popularity owed in part to its very strong and robust action, which could handle the increased pressure generated by the new smokeless powder cartridges that came into common use in the late 1800s. Rolling Blocks were even used in a military capacity up until World War I, when Britain bought surplus stock to arm personnel of Royal Navy support vessels and France issued Rolling Blocks to rear line troops.

The name refers to the action the rifle uses- rolling block action. In this type of firearm action, the breech is sealed by a circular breechblock that rotates or rolls on a pin.

The Remington Rolling Block rifle has appeared in the following film used by the following actors:

Remington Rolling Block Militarized - .45 caliber
Remington No. 1 Rolling Block - .22 rimfire
