The following firearm was used in the film The Natural:
Colt Detective Special
Upon arriving in the Chicago hotel early in the film (1923 in the film's timeline), baseball player Roy Hobbs (Robert Redford) is shot and severely wounded in the gut by Harriet Bird (Barbara Hershey) with a Colt Detective Special. Sixteen years later, while a player for the New York Knights, Memo Paris (Kim Basinger) pulls out a Detective Special owned by "The Judge" (Robert Prosky) and fires a shot into the ground. Hobbs takes the revolver from her, holding it as he argues with her, then tosses it across the room.
