A German officer (Arkadi Shcherbakov), commanding the garrison in Madeleine's native village, holds a [[Luger P08]] during the attempt to arrest a Resistance member in Madeleine's father Hippolyte Lantier's house. After the destroying of the German garrison in the village, Hippolyte Lantier (Nikolai Komissarov) takes the officer's pistol.

When Madeleine Thibault kills a high rank German officer during the performance, another officer in the theater box draws a [[Mauser C96]] (obviously a strange choice for a visit to theater). A Mauser pistol is also seen on the table in the secret base of the Resistance.
