Messenger of Death is a 1988 thriller starring Charles Bronson as Garret Smith, a Denver newspaper reporter who discovers a conspiracy involving land and water rights while investigating the murder of a Mormon family. This film was directed by J. Lee Thompson, who was responsible for such films as Northwest Frontier, St. Ives, Death Wish 4, and The Guns of Navarone.

In the opening scene, the assassin (John Solari) uses an Ithaca 37 pump shotgun to kill the entire family of fundamentalist Mormon Orville Beecham.

Single Barreled Top Break Shotgun

In the opening scene, Mrs. Orville Beecham unsuccessfully tries to protect herself and her children with a single barreled top break shotgun. Garret Smith (Charles Bronson) is seen with a single barreled shotgun during the scene in the Mormon cemetery. These shotguns may be Harrington & Richardson Pardners, but this is only a guess.
