Magnum P.I. is the television series "reboot" of the classic CBS television series that starred Tom Selleck and was broadcast on CBS from 1980 to 1988. In the reboot, Jay Hernandez takes over the role of Thomas Magnum, a former Navy SEAL and former Naval Intelligence officer who is seen solving cases as a private investigator on the islands of Hawaii. The series is being produced by Peter Lenkov, who also helped launch the 2010 remake of Hawaii Five-0 and the "reboot" exists in the same universe. Magnum P.I. premiered on CBS in September of 2018.
