M1 (left), M1A1 (right) Anti-tank mine

The M1 Mine is a US World War II Anti-tank mine, there were basically 2 different versions, the M1 and M1A1 which were very similar.

The M1 was the initial variant but it was prone to unintended detonation due to its fuze construction while transportation. Therefore the improved M1A1 was designed which featured a separate firing mechanism which could be separated while transportation. The M1A1 became the standard US Anti-tank mine during WW2.
