Line of Demarcation (original title La ligne de démarcation) is a 1966 French war drama directed by Claude Chabrol. The story takes place in 1942 in Nazi-occupied France. A small town is crossed by the line of demarcation between occupied territories and free France. Pierre de Damville (Maurice Ronet), a former French Army officer, thinks that the war is over and prefers to co-operate with German power while his wife Mary (Jean Seberg) joins the Resistance. The movie is loosely based on real events, described in the memoir of the prominent Resistance member Gilbert Renault.
