Law & Order - Season 12
Season 12 of Law & Order saw the introduction of Elisabeth Röhm as ADA Serena Southerlyn as a replacement for ADA Abbie Carmichael (Angie Harmon). In "Attorney Client" (S12E22), future L&O regular Annie Parisse made a guest appearance portraying a stripper. Parisse would eventually replace Elisabeth Röhm in the cast in Season 15.
This would also be the last season for Dianne Wiest as Interim District Attorney Nora Lewin, who left the show before Season 13. Like Adam Schiff before her, Nora Lewin never got a proper farewell either, but since she was only the interim DA, it gave the writers some flexibility. She was eventually replaced as DA by Arthur Branch, portrayed by Fred Dalton Thompson in Season 13.
The 2001-2002 season also saw the premiere of yet another spinoff, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, and although there weren't any two-part crossovers, DA Lewin and Detectives Briscoe and Green made guest appearances on that series. Season 12 was also the first season to deal with the September 11th attacks, and the opening voiceover was changed to dedicated the season to the victims (which was changed back for the home video release.) Since the show was well into production when the attacks occurred however, it never was mentioned in any of the storylines until episode 12, which didn't air until January of 2002. The ensuing Global War on Terror and terrorism in general would be a fount of storylines for the rest of the series.

Smith & Wesson Model 36
Detective Lennie Brisco (Jerry Orbach) is armed with a Smith & Wesson Model 36 revolver. Despite the NYPD having officially switched to automatic pistols on January 1st, 1994, more senior officers like Briscoe were grandfathered in and allowed to continue carrying revolvers.
Glock 19
Detective Ed Green (Jesse L. Martin) and other NYPD officers are armed with Glock 19 pistols.
MGC M1911A1
What appears to be an MGC M1911A1 is found at the crime scene in "Soldier of Fortune" (S12E04). The FBI refers to it as a ".45."
Glock 17
Some ESU officers are armed with Glock 17s.
Browning Hi-Power
A Browning Hi-Power is the murder weapon in "Formerly Famous" (S12E06). It's never shown out of the evidence bag, but Det. Green describes it as a "Browning 9mm."
Taurus PT92AFS
Bodyguard James Wilson (David Aron Damane) carries a Taurus PT92AFS in "3 Dawg Night" (S12E09), which Det. Green later takes off of him.
Phoenix Arms Raven
A Phoenix Arms Raven is the murder weapon in "The Collar" (S12E11). Is it described as a "Phoenix Arms .25."
Budischowsky/Norton TP-70
A Budischowsky/Norton TP-70 was involved in a murder in "Foul Play" (S12E21). It is described as a ".25."
Submachine Guns
Heckler & Koch MP5A2
ESU officers are armed with Heckler & Koch MP5A2 submachine guns.
Uzi
Uzi submachine guns are used in a murder in "Soldier of Fortune" (S12E04).
Daisy Airsoft Model 15
Det. Green finds a Daisy Airsoft Model 15 in a suspect's apartment in "Patriot" (S12E24). It stands in for a real MP5K.
Rifles
MGC M-16 Model Gun Corp Replica Rifle
A soldier guarding a courthouse is seen with a slung MGC M-16 Model Gun Corp Replica Rifle with A2 handguards, but with an original three-prong flash hider in "Undercovered" (S12E12). This was the first episode to be written and shot after the events of 9/11, and the episode makes numerous references to it.
