The following weapons were used in the film K-9:

K-9 (1989)

Beretta 92F

Detective Michael Dooley (James Belushi) uses a Beretta 92F with wood grips as his primary weapon in this movie. The wood grips can only be seen when Dooley lays the gun down on a hospital tray table. He incorrectly refers to it as his "revolver" when threatening Jerry Lee to get off the table.

How in the hell do you mistake a Beretta 9mm for a revolver!?

Beretta 92S

In a continuity error, when Dooley lays his gun on the hospital tray table, you can clearly see that the gun has become a Beretta 92S instead of a 92F, because it has a rounded trigger guard, unlike the 92F, which has a bigger one for finger support while aiming.

Beretta Model 92S - 9x19mm. This is one of the earliest Beretta 92 variants. Note the magazine released button on the bottom of the pistol grip and early style magazine floor plate.

Heckler & Koch MP5A3

During the scene where a man in a helicopter shoots and blows up Dooley's car, a Heckler & Koch MP5A3 can be seen firing at the car.

Smith & Wesson Model 5906

At the end of the movie, Lyman (Kevin Tighe) uses a 9mm Smith & Wesson 5906 in stainless steel. He uses it first to hold Dooley's wife, Tracie (Mel Harris) at gunpoint, and again to shoot Jerry Lee (the dog in the film).

When Dooley says the line "You think this is a Nine Millimeter mistake?", he wasn't kidding. People have said that it is really a 4506, but close examination of freeze frames reveal it's a 9mm 5906.

Early Model Smith & Wesson 5906 - 9x19mm. The early model 5906 pistols had the finger step trigger guard, but they changed it to the rounded trigger guard for 'ease of production'.

Smith & Wesson Model 14

Throughout the film, uniformed officers of the San Diego PD can be seen wearing and aiming Smith & Wesson Model 14 revolvers. Contradictions state that the guns are really Model 27s, but examination of the barrel reveals it is really a .38 Model 14.

Lieutenant Byers carries a 4-inch Smith & Wesson Model 19 in his hip holster. It is never seen out of it's holster.

Smith & Wesson Model 19 Combat Magnum - .357 magnum

M16A1

Several M16A1s are seen in the film used by San Diego PD SWAT.

M16A1 with A2 style handguards - 5.56x45mm. Putting the distinctive A2 handguards on the older rifle was a method used by Movie/TV armorers to simulate A2 rifles when M16A1s were the only ones available. The same thing has been done vice-versa, Using M16A2's with A1 handguards for Vietnam War B Movies.
