John Kani is a South African actor whose long career includes such films as The Wild Geese The Ghost and the Darkness and his portrayals of such characters as Rafiki in the 2019 remake of The Lion King and Colonel Ulenga in the 2019 Netflix film Murder Mystery in addition to his role of the Wakandan ruler T'Chaka in the films Captain America: Civil War and Black Panther, a role he voiced in the Disney+ animated series What If...?.
