3.7-Inch QF AA

Joe volunteers to help test what appears to be a 3.7-Inch QF AA, possibly a Mark IV or Mark V. It is described by Major Drummond (Ben Righton) as a "4.5 in heavy anti-aircraft gun" still being evaluated. The Mark IV and V had 4.5 inch barrels lined to fire 3.7 inch shells.

Joe's Home Guard unit mans the AA gun. Incidentally, Home Guard's first official AA kill was at Tyneside, where the film is set, in 1943.
