The Hunting Party is a 2007 war drama about discredited war correspondent Simon Hunt (Richard Gere) who takes along journalist Benjamin (Jesse Eisenberg) and cameraman Duck (Terrence Howard) on an unauthorized mission to track down the No. 1 war criminal at large in Bosnia, Dr. Bogdanović, a.k.a. "The Fox".

The movie is loosely based on real-life events in Bosnia in 2000 when 5 journalists set out on a similar mission to track down convicted war criminal Radovan Karadžić, the former President of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Interestingly, two members of that group have cameo’s in this movie as journalists.

Handguns

Ruger SP101

Goran (Miraj Grbic), a thug working for smuggling godfather "The Midget", pulls out a Ruger SP101 with long barrel to threaten Simon.

Beretta 92FS

Several Serbian thugs carry the Beretta 92FS as their side-arm. Interestingly the gun is never shot but used only as a means of threat.

A local in the village where Dr. Bogdanović is said to hide puts his Beretta on the table when asked about the matter.

A smuggler orders the team to get out of the car showing his Beretta to demonstrate he means business.

In the Sarajevo hotel, Duck is pushed against a wall by a thug with a Beretta send by Dr. Bogdanović.

Walther P1

In the Sarajevo hotel scene, another thug send by Dr. Bogdanović uses a Walther P1 to threaten Simon.

Upon zooming in, the slide serrations give the pistol away as a post-WWII P1 rather than a WWII-era P38.

SIG-Sauer P226

During the rescue scene, a NATO special forces operative carries what appears to be a SIG-Sauer P226 in a leg holster.

As Benjamin, Duck and Simon recover from their rescue, the grip of a P226 can be seen to the left in a leg holster.

Submachine Guns

Heckler & Koch MP5A3

During a flashback scene to the Bosnian War, Dr. Bogdanović can be seen accompanied by two bodyguards carrying Heckler & Koch MP5A3s.

The distinctive telescoping stock can be seen on the right. Further screenshots (of lesser quality) identity this gun as an MP5A3.

Especially the gun on the left allows a positive identification as an MP5A3.

Rifles / Carbines

CZ 550 Magnum

Dr. Bogdanović, a.k.a. “The Fox” (Ljubomir Kerekes) can be seen with a CZ 550 Magnum during several hunting scenes.

Unidentified rifle

“The Nine Fingered Man” (Branko Smiljanic), a hunting buddy of Dr. Bogdanović, carries an unidentified bolt-action hunting rifle with a scope.

A good view of the rifle with possibly the bold handle being a clue to identification.

Next to showing where “The Nine Fingered Man” earns his nickname, this shot gives a better view of the bolt handle.

Heckler & Koch G3A3

The Heckler & Koch G3A3 is seen in the hands of apparent Somali government troops during a flashback to Somalia. Also, the rifle is seen in the hands of Dutch UN troops in Bosnia.

Without really aiming, the troops continue their chase of militiamen, the visible stock identifies the rifles as the A3 variant.

Heckler & Koch G36C

NATO special forces send to safe Simon, Duck and Benjamin from a Serbian prison all carry the standard Heckler & Koch G36C without attachments.

AK-47

Another weapon seen during the flashback scene to Somalia is the AK-47, carried by a militia member at the railway settlement.

FN FAL "G Series"

Also seen during the flashback scene is a FN FAL "G Series", in the hands of a militia member in a pickup truck driving through the railway settlement.

The wooden stock can be distinguished on the FAL of the sitting militia member in the pickup, seemingly making it a "G Series".

Machine Guns

Zastava M53

During a flashback scene to Somalia, an MG42/MG3-style machine gun can be seen. Due to this scene being shot in Croatia, it is most probably a locally produced Zastava M53.

Zastava M72

A Zastava M72, the Yugoslavian version of the Russian RPK-74 machine gun can be seen firing at a location where a news crew is hiding during a flashback to the Bosnian War.

This is the only visible portion of the gun, but the bipod and the short barrel allow an identification as Zastava M72.

Zastava M84

In several scenes, the Zastava M84, a Yugoslavian copy of the Russian PK/PKM machine gun can be seen mounted atop vehicles. They are easily distinguishable by their solid stocks.

As Simon watches television at his Sarajevo hotel room, Chuck Norris can be seen in a scene from Missing in Action with an M60 machine gun.

Maverick Model 88

A suspicious roadhouse waiter (Semir Krivic) near the village where Dr. Bogdanović is said to be hiding, pulls out a Maverick Model 88 on Simon, Duck and Benjamin.

RPG-NH-75

A Serbian trooper can be seen firing an RPG-NH-75 from the back of a jeep during a flashback scene to the Bosnian War.
