The House of the Dead 2 is a first-person light gun shooter arcade game with a horror theme and the second game in The House of the Dead series of video games. The direct sequel to The House of the Dead , it was developed by Sega for arcades on the Sega NAOMI board in November 1998 then later ported to the Dreamcast in 1999 and Microsoft Windows in 2001, and is also found on the Xbox as an unlockable bonus in The House of the Dead III . The game appears in the compilation The House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return for Wii. The Dreamcast version became a Sega All Stars title.

The following weapons appear in the video game The House Of The Dead 2:

Handguns

Beretta Cougar Inox

All AMS Agents use Beretta Cougar Inox pistols. Like the previous game, the Beretta Cougar hold 6 rounds.

Fictional Handgun

During a flashback of the first game in the port's extended opening, AMS agents Thomas Rogan and "G" use a fictional handgun called "AMS EATER Custom", the main weapons of House of the Dead 1. According to the first game's guide book "The House of the Dead Official Guide", it is a heavily modified unknown handgun converted from 9×19mm to 50.AE. It is also equipped with enlarged ambidextrous safety lever, magazine release and single-column 6 rounds magazine. The render's official artwork resembles a custom M1911, similar to a Colt Mk IV Series 80 Combat Elite. In-game, Rogan's pistol seems to resemble a Glock 17, while G's resembles a Colt M1911, though.

Air Pistol

An "Air Pistol" can be used in-game. It is a generic BB gun modeled after what seems a Beretta Model 90 with a different, simplified trigger guard.

Desert Eagle Mark VII

In the promotional artwork of the US arcade version's flyer, AMS Agent Gary Stewart carries a Desert Eagle Mark VII, but it never appears in the final game.

Submachine Guns

Intratec TEC-9

The Intratec TEC-9 appears as the "Machine Gun" in the port's Original Mode. It hold 6 rounds (rifle rounds no less, as seen in the ammo HUD), which are fired automatically in a single discharge.

Shotguns

Ithaca 37

A pump-action shotgun with an extended tube magazine appears as the "Shotgun" in the port's Original Mode. Although the render clearly depicts a pump-action shotgun, the in-game shotgun is actually a double-barreled shotgun, which can hold only two rounds. Judging by its overall design, the Shotgun appears to be based mainly on an Ithaca 37, with the horizontal line ports (holes drilled in the barrel to prevent muzzle jump) of a Mossberg 500A Field Gun.

Launchers

The M79 grenade launcher appears as the "Grenade" in the port's Original Mode. It hold 3 rounds.
