The Hotchkiss M1922 (French: Hotchkiss Modèle 1922) light machine gun was manufactured by the French arms company Hotchkiss. It was a gas operated, automatic-only weapon, which fires from an open bolt. There were two different types of feed available for Hotchkiss M1922 LMG - strip feed and magazine feed. This machine gun was chambered in a wide range of calibres, such as 7x57mm Mauser, 7.92x57mm Mauser, 6.5×54mm Mannlicher-Schonauer, 7.7x56mmR (.303 British), 7.5x54mm French, etc. The Hotchkiss M1922 could also be used from a light infantry-type tripod. It was exported to many European and Latin American countries under the names Hotchkiss 1926 or Hotchkiss 1934.
