Hold-Up is a 1985 French-Canadian crime comedy directed by Alexandre Arcady. Jean-Paul Belmondo stars in the film as Grimm, a criminal who has a crafty plan to rob the most secure bank in Montreal. Hold-Up was an adaptation of the Jay Cronley novel Quick Change, which was later adapted into a 1990 heist comedy co-directed and starring Bill Murray.
The following weapons were used in the film Hold-Up:
Handguns
Colt Python
A Colt Python with 6-inch barrel is used by Grimm (Jean-Paul Belmondo) during the bank robbery.
Smith & Wesson Model 10
Most Montreal police officers carry old-fashioned Smith & Wesson Model 10 revolvers.
Smith & Wesson Model 28
A Smith & Wesson Model 28 with 4-inch barrel is a personal weapon of Police Inspector Fox (Jean-Claude de Goros).
Smith & Wesson Model 36
A Smith & Wesson Model 36 is a personal weapon of Police Commissioner Simon Labrosse (Jean-Pierre Marielle).
Various revolvers
Various unidentified revolvers are seen in several scens.
Inglis Hi-Power
Several Montreal SWAT troopers carry pistols in addition to their M16s or sniper rifles. These pistols are seen only in holsters, but they greatly resemble Browning Hi-Power. According to the fact that the movie was filmed in Canada, they are most likely Canadian-manufactured Inglis Hi-Power.
Submachine Guns
Uzi
Uzi submachine guns are seen in hands of police officers and detectives.
Smith & Wesson 76
A Smith & Wesson 76 is seen in hands of a detective.
Heckler & Koch MP5
Several SWAT troopers are armed with Heckler & Koch MP5 SMGs. They are seen very briefly and at a distance so it's impossible to say for sure if they are MP5A3s or converted HK 94 Carbines.
Shotguns
Franchi SPAS-12
Several Montreal SWAT troopers carry Franchi SPAS-12 shotguns.
Various unidentified shotguns
Smith & Wesson 3000 Shotgun
Police officers are seen with a pistol-gripped Smith & Wesson 3000 Shotgun.
High Standard FLITE KING K-1200 Riot Shotgun
A High Standard FLITE KING K-1200 Riot Standard Model is one of the shotguns carried by law enforcement.
Winchester 1300
A Winchester 1300 shotgun is another shotgun used by law enforcement.
Assault Rifles
M16A1
Most Montreal SWAT members carry M16A1s, some of them with A2-style handguards. The rifles are seen with both 20- and 30-round magazines.
Armalite AR-18
Several Montreal SWAT members carry Armalite AR-18 assault rifles.
Rifles
Ruger AC556
A Ruger AC556 is seen in hands of a police detective.
Remington Model 700
SWAT snipers carry what appear to be Remington 700 rifles.
