Mauser C96 "Broomhandle"

Zigmas Milko (Stephen Martin Walters) uses a Mauser C96 "Broomhandle" after Grutas sends him to kill Hannibal Lecter (Gaspard Ulliel) in 1952. Lecter later uses the weapon when he infiltrates Grutas' mansion. Grutas also gets his hands on the weapon, and uses it to dispatch a female slave, who tried to urge Lecter into shooting him.

A couple of Grutas' thugs also use the Tokarev TT-33 as their sidearms, most notably near the end on the canal boat. Hannibal Lecter (Gaspard Ulliel) also takes one from a guard when he escapes Grutas' mansion after the botched assassination attempt. Lecter can be seen wielding it most notably in Petras Kolnas' (Kevin McKidd) restaurant, using it to lure him into his demise. Grutas also uses a Tokarev near the end of the film on the canal boat.

Submachine guns

PPSh-41

The Lithuanian militiamen Vladis Grutas (Rhys Ifans) and Petras Kolnas (Kevin McKidd) carry PPSh-41 submachine guns as their primary firearms in 1944, during the WWII part in the beginning. Bronys Grentz (Ivan Marevich) also has a PPSh-41 slung over his back when the militia group gathers their loot from Lecter castle on a stretcher. Several Soviet soldiers can also be seen wielding PPSh-41s, when young Hannibal runs into them after escaping from Grutas' group. Soviet border troops also carry them in 1952, when Hannbial crosses over from Lithuania to Poland.

He is seen firing and dumping the gun after it runs dry when the militia group flees from Soviet troops. After the group enter the Lecter lodge, some of the soldiers also seem to carry MP40s, including Petras Kolnas (Kevin McKidd), and Vladis Grutas (Rhys Ifans), and Dortlich. A couple of MP40s can also be seen in a guard stall in Grutas' mansion later on in the film.
