Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter
Nice, but where's the trigger? This article or section is incomplete. You can help IMFDB by expanding it. |
Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter (G.R.A.W.) is a tactical shooter, the third installment in the Ghost Recon series. It was released in 2006 for the PC, Xbox 360, Xbox & PS2. The PC, Xbox and PS2 versions are first-person shooters, while the X360 version is in the third-person perspective.
The game takes place in 2013. Scott Mitchell - the player's character - commands the Ghosts, an elite force which must protect the American and Mexican presidents, recover stolen military techs and battle Mexican rebels.
The game correctly tracks the +1 bullet in the chamber and the fire-mode selector can also be used. The player can customize his weapons before each mission, however putting too many attachments onto the gun will increase its weight and that will result in a moving, aiming and reloading penalty. When a gun is reloaded all the remaining bullets in the magazine are lost.
The following weapons appear in the video game Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter:
Handguns
Beretta M9
The standard-issue sidearm of the U.S. Military and the Ghost Squad is the Beretta M9. Fires 9x19mm bullets, has a capacity of 15+1 rounds. It is the only semi-automatic handgun in the game. Can be modified with a sound suppressor.
Glock 18C
Ghost Team machine pistol. Appears as "G18" but it is actually a Glock 18C. Cannot be modified. Available only in the PC version.
Submachine Guns
Heckler & Koch MP5SD6
Suppressed Heckler & Koch submachine gun firing the 9x19mm "parabellum" round. The H&K MP5SD6 is used by just about every NATO counter-terrorist group in the world. The SMG of choice for the Ghost squad's covert-ops. In G.R.A.W. appears as "MP5SD" and can be modified with an Aimpoint sight. It is a secondary weapon in the game.
Assault Rifles
MR-C
The Crye MR-C is a caseless bullpup assault rifle design proposed by Crye Precision; the "real" weapon was nothing more than a mock-up, and no working MR-C rifle ever existed. The main rifle of the Ghost Team, can be modified with holographic sight, sound suppressor and grenade launcher. Can fire in semi-auto, 3-round burst and full-auto modes and has a 50-round magazine.
Heckler & Koch XM8
The Heckler & Koch XM8 can be equipped with an XM320 grenade launcher, precision sight and sound suppressor. In the XboX version of the game, the M320 is erroneously shown as having a forward-sliding barrel for loading (like the M203). The M320's barrel actually pivots to the side.
Heckler & Koch XM8 Compact Carbine
Smaller version of the XM8 used as a secondary weapon by the Ghost Team. Can be modified with a sound suppressor. Can fire in semi and full-auto.
Heckler & Koch G36K
The G36K is carried by the Mexican soldiers throughout the game. Cannot be used by the player but the magazine can be picked up and used for the SCAR-L, XM8 and XM8 Compact.
Fabrique Nationale SCAR-L
The FN SCAR-L appears with a desert (tan) finish. Has a capacity of 30+1 rounds. Used by the Ghost team, can be equipped with an Enhanced Grenade Launcher Module (EGLM), fore-grip, sound suppressor and Aimpoint sight.
Fabrique Nationale SCAR-H CQC
The FN SCAR-H CQC Ffres 7.62x51mm NATO, a round that packs more power than the 5.56mm round that the SCAR-L is chambered in. It can be modified with the same attachments as the "Light" version.
Sniper Rifles
Barrett M99
The Barrett M99 is the bolt-action single shot sniper rifle of the Ghost Team. Appears with a short barrel. Cannot be modified.
Accuracy International AS50 Sniper Rifle
British semi-automatic heavy sniper rifle, used by the Ghost team snipers to engage targets at long distances. Fires the 12.7x99mm (.50 Caliber) BMG round. Has a capacity of 10 rounds. Performance is similar to the Barrett M82 Sniper Rifle.
Heckler & Koch PSG1
This German semi-automatic sniper rifle is used by Mexican rebel snipers in the game. The Heckler & Koch PSG1 is not usable by the player.
Machine Guns
FN Minimi SPW
The FN Minimi SPW light machine gun comes with a 180-round ammo box. This is the only LMG in the game and cannot be modified. Incorrectly appears as Mk 48, the 7.62x51mm variant of the M249 SAW.
Browning M2
The Browning M2 heavy machine gun is mounted on the Mexican turrets and the Stryker APC vehicles.
Heckler & Koch HK21E
The HK21E LMG is carried by Mexican machine gunners as well as being mounted on the Panhard APCs. Cannot be used by the player.
M134 Minigun
The M134 Minigun can be seen mounted on U.S. Black Hawk helicopters.
Grenade Launchers
Mk 19 grenade launcher
Used by Mexican rebels throughout the game.
Fabrique Nationale EGLM
The 40mm FN EGLM (Enhanced Grenade Launcher Module) appears as simply "grenade launcher" in the game. Can be mounted on the SCAR-L and SCAR-H rifles.
Heckler & Koch XM320
The Heckler & Koch XM320 UBGL appears on the XM8 rifle if the player chooses the grenade launcher attachment. Called "grenade launcher" in the game.
Anti-Armor
Lockheed Martin/IMI FGM-172 SRAW
The FGM-172 SRAW (Short Range Assault Weapon) is the anti-tank missile launcher used by the Ghost Team. It is a fire-and-forget missile launcher capable of destroying any enemy vehicle in one hit. Called "ZEUS MPAR" in the game.
RPG-7
The RPG-7 is used by Mexican soldiers, mainly during the "Ready for Bear" mission.
Grenade
M61
The M61 (an improved version of the M26 hand grenade) is the standard frag grenade the Ghosts use in the game.
