In the comic Grimjack, The Demonstar is the symbol of the Free Marines. It protects the wearer from the influences of Demons. The only way to get one is to either volunteer for the Free Marines, receive one as a gift from a grateful Free Marine, or find one on the corpse of a Free Marine; any of these actions makes you a Free Marine. They tend to have a short lifespan.
