The Fable (Japanese title: ザ・ファブル, Za Faburu) is a 2019 action-comedy film based on the 2014-2019 manga series of the same name by Katsuhisa Minami. The film stars Junichi Okada as "The Fable", an exceptionally talented and legendary hitman within the Japanese underworld who is ordered by his superior (Kôichi Satô) to take a break from his work and live a normal civilian life without killing anybody for an entire year, with him facing life-threatening consequences if he is discovered to have killed anyone within the year. As the Fable settles into his new identity and lifestyle, his life is threatened by figures from the underworld who are trying to find him. The film follows the Fable as he learns to live a civilian life, as well as his encounters with the criminals who want him dead. A sequel, The Fable: The Killer Who Doesn't Kill, was released in 2021.

The Fable / "Akira Sato" (Junichi Okada)'s signature handgun is a Nighthawk Custom-made Colt M1911A1. According to this blog post, the pistol in the film was apparently custom-made using a Tanio Koba GM-7 airsoft pistol as a base. Modifications include the use of 1911 Diamondback grips, a 4 inch chrome slide, and adding Nighthawk Custom engravings, new front/rear sights, and a DCI suppressor barrel adaptor.
