Double Face (Italian title A doppia faccia; German title Das Gesicht im Dunkeln ("The face in the darkness"); also released in English as Puzzle of Horrors) is a 1969 Italian-German thriller directed by Riccardo Freda (credited as Robert Hampton). Helen Alexander (Margaret Lee) dies in a car incident after the conflict with her husband John (Klaus Kinski) due to Helen's affair with another woman, Liz (Annabella Incontrera). John inherits Helen's share in her family business, becoming very rich. Both police and Helen's stepfather Mr. Brown (Sydney Chaplin) suspect that John stands behind the deadly incident. Meanwhile, John meets a certain Christine (Christiane Krüger), who lets him know that his wife may be alive.

The film is released as the 29th installment in the Rialto Film studio film series (1959-1972) adapted from the works of Edgar Wallace. In Germany, the film was promoted as being based on Wallace's novel "The Face in the Night" but in fact the script had nothing to do with the book. Italian release doesn't even mention the name of Edgar Wallace.

The following weapons were used in the film Double Face (A doppia faccia):

Beretta M1934

In the climactic scene John Alexander (Klaus Kinski) meets a horribly disfigured woman who claims herself to be Helen and hands a Beretta M1934 pistol to John, asking him to kill her.

The woman (SPOILER! Highlight to see description)who turns out to be Liz under the mask hands the pistol to John.
John holds the pistol.
The really horrible face of the woman on this screenshot is censored to avoid shocking images.

Beretta M1951

In the final scene Mr. Brown (Sydney Chaplin) uses a Beretta M1951 pistol.

FN Model 1905

An FN Model 1905 pocket pistol is seen in John Alexander's drawer.
