Tommy Guns are prevalent throughout this film. Everyone from the police to the gangsters wield them.

Colt 1921 "Tommy Gun" - .45 ACP
Flattop (William Forsythe) blasts away with his Tommy Gun.
Sam Catchem (Seymour Cassel), holding a Tommy Gun, confers with Chief Brandon (Charles Durning).
Dick Tracy takes aim at bad guys with his Tommy Gun.

M1911

Many characters use these, the gangsters in particular. Alphonse "Big Boy" Caprice (Al Pacino) uses an M1911 at the end to shoot The Blank - Breathless Mahoney (Madonna).
