Dark Sun (Temné slunce) (1982)

Dark Sun (Temné slunce) is a Czech film from 1982 directed by Otakar Vávra. Remake of his film Krakatit (1948). Modern paraphrase a literary classic Karel Čapek about the absurdity of war and potential abuses of science. Ing. Prokop (Radoslav Brzobohatý) made ​​a remarkable discovery. His experiments leads to rise of explosive with unimaginable destructive powers. At that moment drew around him a network of the international interests, which trying to take advantage of the invention for war purposes. Prokop becomes a pilgrim on the road full of devilish temptations, intrigue and frustration, when he meets unscrupulous and inscrutable girl named Kris (Magda Vasáryová). The film has been compared to original literary film adaptation of the artwork updated for the actual political situation in the early 80 years associated with the invention of the neutron bomb.
