Cold War (Chinese Title: 寒戰) is a 2012 Hong Kong police thriller directed by Sunny Luk and Longman Leung. After five HKPF officers are taken hostage by a mysterious gang of kidnappers during a routine patrol, rival deputy police commissioners Sean Lau (Aaron Kwok) and Waise Lee (Tony Leung Ka Fai) fight to take control of the rescue operation, codenamed "COLD WAR". While attempting to free the hostages, Lau and Lee are unwittingly drawn into a larger, more sinister conspiracy within the Hong Kong Police Force.

The following weapons were used in the film Cold War:

Pistols

SIG-Sauer P250 Compact

The SIG-Sauer P250 Compact is the primary firearm used by senior HKPF officers throughout the film. Deputy Commissioner Sean Lau (Aaron Kwok) and Senior Superintendent Vincent Tsui (Chin Kar-Lok) are seen using their P250s during the highway ambush. Deputy Commissioner Waise Lee (Tony Leung Ka Fai) is seen handing his weapon to his son near the ending. Senior Superintendents Albert Kwong (Gordon Lam Ka-tung) is also seen with the pistol. Head kidnapper and ex-cop Chan Bun (Byron Mann) also uses one in a later scene.

Note: In real life, the SIG-Sauer P250 Compact (DCc) is the standard sidearm of HKPF officers in the criminal investigation units, having replaced the Colt Detective Special revolver.

Glock 17 pistols with tactical lights are used by Special Duties Unit (SDU) officers when they storm a ship looking for the hostages and later while confronting the kidnappers in an office tower.

In reality, the Glock 17 pistols in the force were equipped with an Insight M3 Tactical Illuminator since the 1990s. This setting was used by several units in the force including the Special Duties Unit (SDU), Airport Security Unit (ASU) and the Marine Police (MP).
