Children of Men (2006)

Children of Men is a 2006 science fiction war film loosely adapted from the P.D. James novel of the same name and set in a future where women have become infertile and the human race is on the verge of extinction. Clive Owen stars as a government bureaucrat in the now-totalitarian state of Britain, who is asked by his estranged wife to protect a young woman who could hold the key to the human race's future. The film was directed by Alfonso Cuarón and the cast includes Julianne Moore, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Michael Caine.

The following weapons were used in the film Children of Men:

Rifles

Heckler & Koch XM8 (Airsoft Replica)

Airsoft replicas of the H&K XM8 rifle with dummy sights from the G36K appear throughout the movie in the hands of British police officers guarding detained refugees and later at the Bexhill refugee camp.

M4A1 Carbine

An M4A1 Carbine, fitted with an Elcan optical sight, is first seen in the hands of a 'Fish' gunman when Theo Faron (Clive Owen) is kidnapped by the resistance group. Later, during the action sequence at the Bexhill refugee camp, a female 'Fish' is also seen with an M4. While it would be more likely in reality for the gun to be a Diemaco C8A1 Carbine, Colt Canada does not sell to civilian companies (including film armorers) so it would be impossible to use one in the film. Another M4A1 carbine, equipped with a M203 grenade launcher, tactical light and a AN/PEQ-2 IR designator, is used by Luke (Chiwetel Ejiofor) when his forces arrive at the Bexhill refugee camp.

Kalashnikov Variants

Two types of Kalashnikov rifle appear in the film. Modernized versions with plastic furniture are used by Tomasz (Jacek Koman) and Sirdjan (Faruk Pruti), while older versions with wooden stocks are seen in the hands of refugees throughout the film.

Heckler & Koch G36

At the Bexhill refugee camp one of the resistance fighters carries a G36C which he fires at approaching British troops. Shortly after, a British Army squad leader who orders his men to cease fire is also armed with a Heckler & Koch G36C. Prop G36Ks can also be seen in the hands of refugees during a funeral march.

L85A1

British Army soldiers throughout the film use L85A1 rifles (identified by their round charging handles). They are fitted with SUSAT scopes, however on closer examination they are actually of Swedish rather than British origin based on the different design of their mounting base. They are most prominently seen when the military invades the Bexhill refugee camp.

Machine Guns

Heckler & Koch HK21

A Fish at the at the farm house meeting is briefly shown brandishing a Heckler & Koch HK21 machine gun.

The HK21 is seen to the left of the shot. Note the bipod, vented handguards and ammunition drum that distinguish the weapon as a HK21.

L7 GPMG (FN MAG)

A L7 machine gun is seen mounted at an army checkpoint leading to the Bexhill refugee camp. Another L7 is mounted on the commander's hatch of the Chieftain tank seen towards the end of the movie.

The Chieftain has an L7 machine gun in a remote-operated mount. Presumably this is an L37A1 or A2 variant, also the Chieftain and most of the British Army vehicles are painted in 'British Berlin Brigade' urban camouflage.

PKM

As Theo and Kee leave the scene of a battle between the Fishes and the British Army, a single soldier can be seen wielding a Russian PK machine gun without an ammunition belt or box.
