Wes Craven was an American film director/producer known primarily for his films in the horror genre, namely such classics as The Last House on the Left (1972) and The Hills Have Eyes (1977), in addition to creating the A Nightmare on Elm Street and Scream film franchises.
He passed away from brain cancer on August 30, 2015.
