The Evil Dead is a cult horror feature film series that focuses the story of Ash (portrayed by Bruce Campbell), a man whose life is completely upended when evil spirits are unleashed by the recitation from what is called the Book of the Dead. The 1981 original gained cult status and would launch the careers of director Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell, who would follow up the film with two sequels released in 1987 and 1993. A semi-reboot would be released in 2013.
