The Xbox 360 Operation Guillotine gameplay trailer shows the player character using the [[Benelli M Series Super 90 Shotguns#Benelli M4|M1014 Joint Service Combat Shotgun]]. Features a semi-automatic mode with tactical stock fully retracted during gameplay. Also featured pretty decent range as opposed to other games which force the player to see the whites in the enemies eyes to make a shotgun barely effective. Should also be noted the reload animation shows the player loading the first round into the breach first, then loading the remaining shells underneath shotgun.

Battlefield 3 (2011)

Battlefield 3 (also known as BF3) the is upcoming twelfth installment of the Battlefield series, also the direct sequel to Battlefield 2, which was released on June 21, 2005. The game is been developed by the Swedish company Digital Illusions CE (DICE) and will be published by Electronic Arts on October 25, 2011 in North-America, later in Australia on October 27th and on October 28th in Europe. One of the main features of the game is the new engine, the Frostbite 2, which bringing a large improvement from Battlefield: Bad Company 2's engine, and includes the graphics, sounds, animations, gameplay overall and much more. BF3 is developed for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 platforms.

The following weapons appear in the video game Battlefield 3:

Handguns

Beretta M9

In the beginning of the single-player mission that was shown during gameplay footage, a Marine who is sitting in front of the player has a Beretta M9 pistol holstered to his vest. It can also be seen in the multiplayer footage of E3 that the player is reloading his M9. Another note of interest is that unlike in Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and Medal of Honor's multiplayer, the M9's magazine has 15 rounds + 1 in the chamber like in reality. An M9 fitted with a suppressor can be seen in the CO-OP trailer.

A Beretta M9 holstered to a Marine's vest's is circled in red. Also note that the same U.S. Marine is inaccurately shown to have a U.S. Flag Patch on his sleeve. In reality, U.S. Marines do not wear flag or unit patches on their sleeves.

IZHMECH MP-443 Grach

The MP-443 returns from Bad Company 2, as it's briefly visible in the multiplayer kill list in the "Operation Métro" trailer. It is the Russian faction's sidearm.

Glock 17

The Glock 17 is shown in an official screenshot for the Battlelog. Called "G17C" in the beta, although it is modeled after a standard Glock 17 as there are no compensator cuts on the top of the slide and comes standard with a laser sight.

A Generation 3 Glock 17 - 9x19mm

USMC Precision Weapons Shop M-45 MEU(SOC)

The USMC version of the M1911, the M-45, can be used if the player is a Battlefield Veteran, or a member of the EA Gun Club. It is a standard M1911A1 with a three-hole trigger, commander-style hammer, beavertail grip safety, rubber grips, and uses 8 round magazines.

Beretta 93R

The Beretta 93R can be unlocked a sidearm, and is correctly named "93R", while most games seem to call it the "M93R", which is incorrect.

Glock 18

The Glock 18 appears as the "G18". It has an extended magazine base that gives it a 19 round capacity, and also has a non-removable laser sight.

IZHMECH MP-412 REX

The MP-412 returns from Bad Company and Bad Company 2 as an unlockable sidearm.

Taurus Model 444 Raging Bull

The Taurus Model 444 appears as an unlockable sidearm, and can be fitted with a scope. Appears as "T44", one of the few weapons in game that does not go by its proper name, most likely due to legal reasons.

Sub-Machine Guns

Unlike previous games in the series, SMGs are all-kit unlockables, and not strictly limited to an Engineer/Spec Ops-type class.

Heckler & Koch UMP45

A detailed pick-up icon for the Heckler & Koch UMP45 can be seen in GameSpot's recently released Tokyo Game Show gameplay footage.

KBP PP-2000

The PP-2000 comes standard with a 20 round magazine, with extended 40-round magazines as an option.

FN P90TR

An FN P90TR (Triple Rail) can be seen in E3 coverage from IGN. It can be used by any kit once unlocked.

FN P90TR - 5.7x28mm
File:Battp90.jpg
Soldier wielding the FN P90TR. Notice that the magazine in the P90 is not locked inside the mechanism but inside the weapon itself(!). This is probably just a model error only within the alpha version of the game. It also appears to be a tad over-sized too.

Heckler & Koch MP7A1

The H&K MP7A1 can be unlocked and used by any kit, and can also be equipped with 40 round magazines, as opposed to the 20 round standard.

Assault Rifles & Battle Rifles

Magpul PDR

The Magpul PDR appears as an all kit weapon, most likely because, other than firing the 5.56mm round, the gun is basically an SMG. For unknown reasons, it appears as the "PDW-R".

TsNIITochMash AS Val

The AS Val appears as an all kit weapon, most likely due to its small size and unique integrated suppressor, making it too specialized for any specific kit.

Colt M4/M4A1

The M4A1 Carbine is commonly seen in gameplay footage which is also in the hands of the main character. During the alpha stages footage, the in-game M4A1 can be seen fitted with iron sights, EOTech 551 Holographic sight, Trijicon TA01NSN 4x32 ACOG scope, Surefire Universal WeaponLight, AN/PEQ-2 laser designator, Magpul Ranger Plate, and a SOPMOD stock. Two different "reload-from-empty" animations have been seen. The "Fault Line" trailers had the player rack the charging handle, while in the more recent Operation Metro trailer, and the rest since then, the player uses the bolt release. It has been confirmed that both the M4A1 (full-auto) and M4 (3-round burst) will be available for use within the game. In multiplayer, the M4A1, being a carbine, is used by the 'Engineer' kit, and is the starting weapon for US Engineers.

Izhmash AKS-74U

The AKS-74U has been seen in gameplay trailers, fitted with a SureFire Universal WeaponLight. In multiplayer, the AKS-74U, being a carbine, is used by the 'Engineer' kit, and is the starting weapon for Russian Engineers.

AKS-74U - 5.45x39mm.

FN Mk 17 Mod 0 (SCAR-H CQC)

The FN Mk 17 Mod 0, or SCAR-H CQC, can be seen in the new Caspian Border gameplay trailer. In multiplayer, the SCAR-H, being a carbine, is used by the 'Engineer' kit. A modelling mistakes shows the fire selector switch set on semi-auto as the weapon itself fires on full-auto.

KBP A-91

The A-91 appears and, being a carbine (or just a really short rifle), is used by the Engineer kit. It does not have its 40mm grenade launcher.

Heckler & Koch G36C

A Heckler & Koch G36C is briefly seen being used by one of the players in PAX coverage from NVIDIA. In multiplayer, the G36C, being a carbine, is used by the 'Engineer' kit.

SIG SG 553

The SG 553 has been confirmed by DICE in the official Battlefield Blog. In multiplayer, the M4A1, being a carbine, is used by the 'Engineer' kit.

Colt M16A3/M16A4

The M16A4 rifle was one of the first weapon to be shown on early gameplay footage, but was lacking rear iron sights and even optical sights because of the alpha stage development, though were added later on. It has been confirmed that both the M16A3 (full-auto) and M16A4 (3-round burst) will be available for use within the game. They have M16A1 flash hiders and a rail cover on the right side rail, and the fire selector is also always set to semi.

File:M4nosight.jpg
In this picture, it seems that the developers have removed the front gas block like in Call of Duty. So in this case, the rifle would not properly function like in reality. This has since been fixed by having the player co-witness the sights.

Izhmash AK-74M

The AK-74M has been seen in gameplay trailers.

Heckler & Koch HK416

The HK416 returns from Bad Company and Bad Company 2 having a 10.4" barrel and OD furniture. It is the first unlock for the Assault kit and can have an M320 (which replaces the kit's Medkit) mounted as long as a grip or bipod are not. It once again appears as the "M416", most likely for copyright reasons. For some reason is has semi, auto, and three round burst firing modes, something that most Stoner platforms aren't capable of. (Korean M16 Clone is semi, burst, full.)

Degtyaryov AEK-971s

The AEK-971s is an unlock for the Assault kit, and, like the real one, has vitually no recoil.

FN F2000 Tactical

The F2000 returns from Bad Company and Bad Company 2, and has much more realistic statistics, notably it doesn't have a fire rate that comes close to a minigun.

Izhmash AN-94

The AN-94 returns from the Bad Company series, and correctly fires at 600rpm when set to full auto and 1800rpm when set to 2-round burst.

DIO KH2002 Khaybar

The Xbox 360 Operation Guillotine gameplay trailer shows a PLR militant using the DIO Khaybar (aka KH2002) assault rifle. The weapon is a bullpup conversion of the DIO S-5.56 assault rifle, which is a direct copy of the Norinco CQ assault rifle. The KH2002 was put into service in 2004 as a replacement for the Iranian Military's obsolete G3A3. The model featured in the game is the improved model introduced in 2009, as noted by its longer carry handle and barrel mounted front sight.

Fun Fact: The rifle is named after "The Battle of Khaybar," where the Muslim Prophet Muhammad lead a victorious attack against a large settlement of Jews living in the Arabian settlement of Khaybar. Muhammad believed that the loot and prestige gained from Khaybar would be necessary in order to fund his future military campaigns.

Heckler & Koch G3A3

In the new "Securing the Apartment Block" gameplay footage that was recorded at the Tokyo Game Show, a pick-up icon for a G3A3 can be seen. Since Battlefield 3 takes place (for the most part) in Northern Iraq and Iran, it is entirely possible that this is actually an Iranian manufactured G3 and not a standard H&K one. The Iranian-manufactured version differs in that it utilizes a slimline handguard and has Farsi writing on the receiver, whereas the version depicted appears to have a wide handguard.

FN M240B

The M240B appears in the hands of some U.S. Marines, and in the hands of the player, fitted with an EOTech Holographic Weapon Sight (HWS). The trailer shows the weapon as having a deployable bipod which can be used to increase accuracy during prolonged firing, at the cost of player mobility.

Barrett M82A3

The M82A3 is confirmed to be in the game, however, DICE felt that the .50 caliber round it uses would either be overpowered if depicted properly, or feel useless if kept balanced, so they opted to simply not have it multiplayer.

Shotguns

For the first time in a main Battlefield series game (excluding spinoffs like Battlefield Play4Free), shotguns can be iron-sighted. They can also be used in every kit, like the SMGs.

C-More Systems M26 MASS

The M26 MASS can be mounted on any of the assault rifles in the Assault kit. It can fire buckshot, flechettes, frag rounds, or slugs, same as the other shotguns.

Remington 870 MCS

Appears as the "870 MCS" in the beta. The player characters pump the shotgun right immediately after fire and very quickly, which makes it seem almost semi-automatic in the game, like a pump action combat shotgun should be.

Benelli M1014

Features a semi-automatic mode with tactical stock fully retracted during gameplay. Also featured pretty decent range as opposed to other games which force the player to see the whites in the enemies eyes to make a shotgun barely effective. Should also be noted the reload animation shows the player loading the first round into the breach first, then loading the remaining shells underneath shotgun.

Armsel Striker

The Armsel Striker is included, identifiable by the winding key on the front of the drum magazine. The weapon is referred to as the "DAO-12" in material advertising the game's pre-order rewards, as it was in Battlefield 2; this stands for "double action only, 12 gauge" and is a description of the weapon rather than a correct name for it.

Launchers

Heckler & Koch M320

The M320 is the standard grenade launcher and can fire standard, buckshot, or smoke rounds. It can either be mounted on the rifle, or standalone.

KBP GP-30

Interestingly, if the M320 is mounted to a Russian weapon, it instead becomes a GP-30, though the name is not mentioned.

Talley Defense Systems Mk 153 Mod 0 SMAW

The Mk 153 Mod 0 SMAW appears in "EA PWNED" Battlefield 3 video, demonstration the game's destruction engine.

The FIM-92 Stinger appears as the American Engineer's anti-air launcher.

KBM 9K38 Igla (SA-18 Grouse)

The 9K38 appears as the Russian Engineer's anti-air launcher. Oddly, in game it is named "SA-18 Igla", using the US designation for the weapon, but the Russian nickname.

Raytheon Missile Systems FGM-148 Javelin

The Javelin appears and can be used in either top-down or direct-fire modes.

Saab Bofors Dynamics AT4

The M136 AT4 appears in the hands of US Marines. In the trailer, it seems to have a pistol grip instead of having the trigger on the back of the weapon behind the sights. As of the Beta it has not been seen in Multiplayer at all.

Browning M2HB

The Browning M2HB heavy machine gun appears in the game mounted on vehicles, including M1A2 Abrams tanks. The Abrams appear to be fitted with a remote mounting for the M2HB allowing the Commander to fire the weapon from inside the safety of the turret, a feature recently implemented on real-life M1A2's operating in Iraq.
