The GCPD police use a Smith and Wesson 5906 as their standard issue sidearms throughout the film including Det. James Gordon (Gary Oldman) and Det. Flass (Mark Boone Junior). Rachel Dawes takes Flass' S&W to attempt to hold back the crazed Arkham inmates.

Bruce checks to see his 617 is loaded. A goof is that you can see the .357 rounds are dummy bullets as their primers have been fired
Bruce takes one last look at his 617 before chucking it in the river. You can see "Taurus-Brasil" stamped on the side, proving it is a Taurus and not a Smith and Wesson.

Colt M1911A1

Carmine Falcone (Tom Wilkinson) uses a Colt 1911 pistol and aims it at Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) in the restaurant. A Chinese officer who arrests Bruce is also armed with a Colt M1911A1, but it is barely seen.
