Akim Tamiroff (born Hovakim Tamiroff, October 29, 1899 – September 17, 1972) was a Russian-born actor of Armenian ancestry. He moved in USA in 1923 and made a career in Hollywood. Tamiroff won the first Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor, and was nominated twice for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.
