(Starship Troopers) - Morita Rifle Series
The Morita rifle series is a series of fictional weapons created for the movie Starship Troopers, with obvious influence from the M41A Pulse Rifle.
Morita Mk I Rifle
The full-sized Morita rifle is used by Mobile Infantry standard/enlisted soldiers with the Morita Carbine being carried by fleet pilots and officers (See below). The weapons themselves are built around Ruger Mini-14/AC-556 rifles with an underslung Ithaca 37 shotgun. The weapons utilize a modified Muzzelite MZ-14 bullpup stock to house the Ruger Mini-14/AC-556 rifles and the Ithaca 37 shotguns (for the Morita rifle only). The Morita rifles and carbines in the film also feature a muzzle brake from the M60 GPMG.
This weapon is used by the following actors:
- Casper Van Dien as Johnny Rico in Starship Troopers
- Jake Busey as Ace Levy in Starship Troopers
- Dina Meyer as Dizzy Flores in Starship Troopers
- Various actors playing Mobile Infantry soldiers in Starship Troopers
Morita Mk I Carbine
A version of the Morita Rifle that is issued to Federation Pilots, as well as Officers and Senior NCOs of the Mobile Infantry. It is the same Ruger AC556-based Muzzelite Custom stocked rifle as the full sized Morita, except that it is shorter and missing the Ithaca Model 37 shotgun.
This weapon is used by the following actors:
- Michael Ironside as Jean Rasczak in Starship Troopers
- Patrick Muldoon as Zander Barcalow in Starship Troopers
- Denise Richards as Carmen Ibanez in Starship Troopers
Morita Mk I Sniper Rifle
Basically a full-size Morita Rifle with a large multi-task Scope. It is the same basic weapon with the addition of an advanced scope capable of tracking and zooming in on a target.
This weapon is used by the following actors:
- Michael Ironside as Jean Rasczak in Starship Troopers
- Seth Gilliam as 'Sugar' Walkins in Starship Troopers
