The M240 Flamethrower is a flamethrower used in the film Aliens. These flamethrowers appear to have been created from parts from M16 rifles with the M203 handguard. The 'faux' flamethrower used the upper receiver assembly of an M16A1 - cut into two parts, using the top carry handle facing forward, but the section with the ejection port turned backwards.
The M240 Flamethrower has been used by the following actors:
- Sigourney Weaver as Ellen Ripley in Aliens
- Al Matthews as Sergeant A. Apone in Aliens
- Mark Rolston as Private M. Drake in Aliens
- Trevor Steedman as Pvt. Wierzbowski in Aliens
- Ricco Ross as Pvt. R. Frost in Aliens
