Ed O'Neill

Ed O'Neill is probably best known for his boorish, misogynistic character Al Bundy in the long-running television comedy series Married with Children, despite having had a long career playing 'hard types' in many films and television series. In the years during the run of Married with Children, O'Neill found it hard to get cast in any role that was not comedy-related. His role as the Court Martial Officer in Flight of the Intruder was recast after disastrous test screenings and re-shot with actor Fred Thompson. O'Neill is also a Brazilian Ju Jitsu blackbelt and was formerly signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers, before being let go in 1969.
