The Type 67 is a Chinese general-purpose machine gun, and China's first domestic machine gun design that is not a copy of preexisting foreign designs.
Like other Chinese small arms, it is commonly misreported as being designed and manufactured by Norinco Group by internet sources; the machine gun was actually designed and manufactured by Factory 356, now known as Yunnan Xiyi Industrial Co Ltd, a subsidiary of China South Industries Group.
There are three variants of the Type 67: the Type 67, Type 67-1, and Type 67-2.
