A Colt revolver rifle is used by the character played by Ben Jonson in a 1962 episode of "Have Gun Will Travel," "The Fifth Bullet."

Question about Cartridge Conversions?

I have seen examples of original Colt Model 1855's in .38 Colt, presumably converted from .36 caliber rifles, and conversions to .44 Rimfire, likely from .44 caliber rifles. Now i was wondering if a .44 caliber rifle could be converted to .45 Colt using a 5-round cylinder, or if a .56 caliber rifle could be converted to .50 Rimfire (Spencer)?
