The Hard Way is a 1991 action comedy starring Michael J. Fox as Nick Lang, a spoiled Hollywood actor who desires more serious roles and thinks he can do it by learning how to be a real cop. James Woods co-stars as veteran NYPD Lt. John Moss, who is ordered to escort Lang around the city even while he pursues a serial killer known as "The Party Crasher" (Stephen Lang). The film was directed by John Badham (Blue Thunder) and is notable for being one of the first films to feature the Glock 19.
