Sniper 2 (2002)

Sniper 2 is the second feature in the Sniper film series. For the 2002 DTV sequel, Tom Berenger returns as Master Gunnery Sergeant Thomas Beckett, who is asked to come out of retirement by the NSA in order to take on a mission to eliminate a Serbian general responsible for genocide. For the mission, Beckett is partnered with a former Delta Force sniper who was on death row. The cast includes Bokeem Woodbine and Linden Ashby.

The following weapons were used in the film Sniper 2:

Rifles

Swedish 1896 Mauser

Master Gunnery Sgt. Thomas Beckett (Tom Berenger) uses a sporterized Swedish Model 1896 Mauser rifle. The unique shape of the M1896 cocking piece can be seen at the rear of the bolt, and the bolt sleeve lacks the gas-deflecting flange of the later Model 98-pattern bolt.

Mauser 1896/02 Rifle (Carl Gustaf) - 6.5x55mm
Master Gunnery Sgt. Thomas Beckett (Tom Berenger) is seen with the Mauser 1896 at the film's beginning. The rifle is not cocked as the cocking piece is in the forward position. Note Beckett is using his middle finger to fire due to the injury he incurred in the original Sniper.

Remington 700PSS

Beckett is seen with the Remington 700PSS sniper rifle during the initial mission.

Mosin Nagant M91/30

A Soviet Mosin Nagant M91/30 rifle is found by Beckett in the underground weapons cache. He wrongly identifies the rifle as a "Mauser 7.92", when he should have said "Mosin 7.62". Beckett was likely referring to a Gewehr 98 Mauser in 7.92x57mm due to its similar size and appearance. Beckett is also seen using it during the convoy ambush.

Mosin Nagant M91/30 PU Sniper

In some parts of the film, the rifle becomes a Mosin Nagant M91/30 with a down-turned bolt and is equipped with a scope.

Note the turned-down bolt unique to the PU Sniper variant. Normal Mosins had straight bolts.

Type III AK-47

Several characters are seen carrying Soviet Type III AK-47s with milled receivers. Cole (Bokeem Woodbine) carries an AK-47 near the end of the film. It should be noted that since Sniper 2 takes place in Serbia, it would be far more likely for the characters to be using Zastava M70s. However, it should be noticed that it is still likely that there would be normal AK-47s in the Balkans, just not nearly as common.
