Mr. Sunshine (Korean title: 미스터 션샤인, Miseuteo Syeonsyain) is a 2018 South Korean TV series starring Lee Byung-hun. It is set in 1900s Korea, shortly before the Japanese takeover of 1910.
The following weapons were used in the television series Mr. Sunshine:
Pistols
Mauser C96
The Mauser C96 is used by several characters throughout the series.
Nambu Type 14
The Nambu Type 14 anachronistically appears as the standard sidearm of all Imperial Japanese Army members and is used by several characters throughout the series. The pistol's anachronism in this series is two-fold; first, the Type 14 would not be adopted as the standard sidearm of the IJA until 1927 (years after this series' setting), and secondly, the model that appears throughout the series is the "late model", which would only be adopted in 1936. The Nambu 1902 or the Type 26 Revolver would have been a much more period-accurate handgun.
Luger P 04
Luger P 08
Revolvers
Remington 1858 New Army
Colt Single Action Army
Smith & Wesson Model 40
Muskets
Jochong Matchlock Musket
Flintlock Musket
Rifles
Enfield P14
Eugene Choi (Lee Byung-hun) uses a British Pattern 1914 Enfield while fighting as a US Marine in the Spanish-American War. This is anachronistic, as the rifle only entered US service several after the war had ended.
