Death Race 3: Inferno is the second DTV prequel to 2008's Death Race. Several of the characters from Death Race 2 return for the 2013 film, including Luke Goss as the driver who would become the original "Frankenstein" and Robin Shou as 14K, the only driver to appear in all three films. Like the second film, Death Race 3 was produced in South Africa, thus many of the weapons seen here appear to be of South African origin.
The following weapons were used in the film Death Race 3: Inferno:
Non Race Weapons
M4A1
What appear to be M4A1 Carbines are carried by the guards of the Correctional Facility. These are possibly replicas.
Vektor R5 (Modified to Resemble AK-47)
Warlord gunmen are seen carrying what appear to be at first glance AK-47 rifles. However, based on their 5.56 magazines and angled Valmet-style receiver design, these rifles are actually Vektor R5 rifles modified to resemble Kalashnikovs. Similar weapons have appeared in other movies made in South Africa, such as District 9 or Chris Ryan's Strike Back.
Vektor R5
Unmodified Vektor R5 rifles are carried by the prison guards.
Vektor Z88
Due to the film's production in South Africa, the Vektor Z88, the South African copy of the Beretta 92FS, appears to be the handgun used by warlords and guards.
Browning M1919A4 Machine Guns
Warlord gunmen are seen chasing Frankenstein in vehicles with Browning M1919A4 Machine Guns mounted in the back.
The Vehicles of Death Race 3
The following lists the armaments carried by the vehicles of Death Race 3. Unlike Death Race 2, all the vehicles seen here are new to the trilogy.
Frankenstein: "The Monster" 2006 Ford Mustang GT
Carl "Luke" Lucas, the driver who becomes "Frankenstein", once again drives the 2006 Ford Mustang GT known as "The Monster". This particular version of the car is modified for off road use. "The Monster" is armed with the following:
M134 Miniguns
The main offensive armament are twin M134 miniguns hood-mounted on the passenger side of "The Monster".
"Razor": Gurkha F5
The truck driven by Razor (Bart Fouche) appears to be Gurkha F5, which is armed with the following:
M61 Vulcan
A 20mm M61 Vulcan Gatling gun is mounted on the passenger side.
"Psycho": Jaguar X400
"Psycho" drives a Jaguar X400 which is armed with the following:
M60
Twin M60 machine guns are mounted on the hood of Psycho's vehicle.
"Joker": Fast Five Heist Truck
The massive vehicle driven by Joker in the film is one of the custom "Heist Trucks" built for the 2011 film Fast Five. The truck is armed with the following:
Tank Cannon
Joker's truck is armed with what appears to be a tank cannon mounted in a turret in the back.
