If someone can find some screen-shots with a side view we might be able to figure out whether its an 1851, 1860 or 1861. | ||

It looks like you're right, I just looked it up and I found this gun called a 1860 Colt Army Revolver, it looks similar to a Single Action Army, but dosen't have the top part. When I saw it in the movie, I assumed it was an old fashion version of the SAA.
Revolver
Its definitely a Colt cap and ball revolver converted for cartridges. In the picture in the article you can clearly see there's no top strap, and a plunger instead of the loading lever.
