PARANOIA is a freeware survival horror first-person shooter. Originally a Half-Life mod, it was eventually turned into a standalone freeware game on the Xash3D open source engine.
The player takes the role of Spetsnaz Officer Alexander Kalashnikov who is deployed to the Udarnik complex after it is attacked
The following weapons appear in the video game PARANOIA:
Pistols
Stechkin APS
The APS is the first handgun you come across in the armory and it uses the Desert Eagle animations from Counter-Strike. It's a little odd giving the player a machine pistol for their secondary. a more appropriate choice for a standard issue Russian sidearm could have been a Makarov PM or a MP433 Grach which entered service 4 years prior. It holds only 12 shots instead of 20.
Glock 17c
The Glock 17c in the game has a silver ported slide and uses the same animations as the Glock 18 in Counter-Strike, Unlike in Counter-Strike it has a Magazine capacity of 17 rounds and you can aim down the sights in the game.
Makarov PM
The Makarov PM appears on posters but is not a usable weapon.
Shotgun
Franchi SPAS-12
The Franchi SPAS-12 shotgun appears late in the game. The "Double-shot" feature from Half-Life was replaced with aiming the Shotgun and like most video game depictions, the carrier latch isn't used when reloading and the shotgun is only fired in pump-action.
Submachine Guns
Heckler & Koch MP5A3
The Heckler & Koch MP5A3 fitted with an RM Equipment M203PI grenade launcher appears and is likely a reference to the film End of Days.
Submachine gun poster
Assault Rifles
AK-74M
The AK-74M appears being used by NPCs and Alexander during most of the campaign. It appears the devs mixed up the weapon names as the game calls it a "AKS-74".
AK-74
The AK-74 appears misnamed as the "AK-74M" and is mainly used by NPCs. Alexander only uses an AK-74 in training outside of cheats.
OTs-14-4A-03 Groza
The OTs-14-4A-03 Groza appears with it's scope and Sionics 2 stage suppressor.
AS Val
The AS Val appears as an available weapon. It is notably so quiet that the sound of the weapon's action is louder than the actual gunfire.
Sniper Rifles
SVD Dragunov
The SVD Dragunov sniper rifle appears on a poster.
Machine guns
PKM
The PKM machine gun appears as both a mounted weapon and a portable version. The portable version is misidentified as a RPK-74
Explosives
F-1 Hand Grenade
The F-1 Hand Grenade is the game's single grenade.
RM Equipment M203PI
The MP5A3 has an RM Equipment M203PI grenade launcher.
RPG-7
The RPG-7 appears in the final boss fight against a helicopter.
