My name is Brian Dettling, and I operate "Stage Armament Solutions", a firearm props, related equipment, and training service that operates in the Washington DC area. Officially I've been at it for over 15 years but have many more years unofficially. I got my start helping out local community theatre and indie film productions and still assist my local groups for gratis. I have assisted on a few bigger projects, such as "The Purge: Election Year" and middle-large indies like "The Night Watchmen" (a horror-comedy starring DC/Baltimore area actors and featuring folks like James Remar, Rain Pryor [daughter of Richard] and Matt Servitto of "Banshee").

I first got interested in film production after working on several productions in CA that filmed in the high desert where I grew up. I was a featured background player on "G.I. Jane" as a Libyan soldier, and one of the few allowed a blank-firing AK-47. I also helped found a gunfight reenactment/skit performing group, "The Garlock Gunslingers" that performed in several locations around Southern California in the last half of the 1990s.

I grew up collecting and firing many different types of weapons in the desert, and have many friends with varied collections as well.

I have been following IMFDB for years and have learned a lot and have been awed by the level of knowledge presented by the community. I feel that I also have a decent body of knowledge that may prove helpful in keeping IMFDB complete and accurate. I am not interested in 'flaunting' the knowledge I possess, but would be happy to share what I have with the IMFDB community.
