Untouchables, The (1959)
The Untouchables was a television crime series that aired for four seasons in the US on ABC from 1959 to 1963, dramatizing the exploits of Treasury Agent Eliot Ness (Robert Stack) and his team of incorruptible crimefighters as they battled Al Capone and other gangsters of early 1930s Chicago during the time of Prohibition. The series was inspired by Ness's memoir of the same name. Stack would reprise his role as Ness in the 1991 television film The Return of Eliot Ness. The series was also adapted in 1987 as Brian De Palma's feature film of the same name and later as a UPN television series that premiered in 1993.
