That's not an MP5A3, it's an MP5A5. I'm fairly sure the Harrier and most certainly the cannons and missiles fired would be considered weapons.

We usually just deal with small arms on this site, not heavier ordnance such as missiles or bombs or even automatic cannon. The heaviest weaponry that gets mention are crew-served machine guns or shoulder-fired anti-tank/anti-aircraft weapons. Basically, anything that's man-portable.

DVD

Am I the only one who wishes they could release a special edition DVD for this movie? I've loved this movie since I was a little kid and the DVD they release is mail slot widescreen and very poor quality. Plus, some James Cameron commentary and some added deleted scenes (like the scene with the grenade, which explained why Arny somehow got one). This movie deserves better. - Gunmaster45

How can you tell these are SP89s? -Gunman69 05:24, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
Well for one, that's what armorers had handy before about 1997, when they started using actual MP5Ks. Two, you can see it has an old stlye trigger group, which is typical of an SP89. And three, the guns lack paddle magazine releases and push pin lower recievers. So that's how I can tell they are SP89s. Granted I'm determining this based on the first shot, but the other two are most definately SP89s as well. - Gunmaster45
I seriously can't tell if these MP5Ks are partially converted SP89s or not; the image quality isn't quite that clear. Also, all MP5s in movies are transferable conversions of HK94s and SP89s, just like the ones available on the civilian Class III firearms market. I am not aware of any rule that before 1997, only partially-converted SP89s were used. Lethal Weapon 2 and Die Hard 2, made in 1989 and 1990 (respectively), both feature MP5Ks that are full conversions (removable SEF lowers, flipper magazine releases, etc.) -MT2008

Stinger goof?

Stingers are cold launched, meaning the missiles are ejected from the tube first, and are well clear of the tube before the rocket motor engages, like the Peacekeeper, and every model of SLBM the US has ever fielded. Thus, rather than killing everyone, would the Stinger hurt ANYONE? --Funkychinaman 07:57, 21 February 2010 (UTC)

According to the weapons' safety manual, under combat firing nobody should be within 50 feet of the backblast to avoid injury or death.

A quick image search of Stinger launches will reveal several images that show the effects of the launch motor effects. They can kick up considerable dust and debris. The one goof in the truck scene would be the color of the blast. Most man-portable launchers use a colorless ejector motor to keep targets from spotting the launch location. --MrMiracle (talk) 22:12, 11 May 2013 (EDT)
Goof or not, it's funny as hell. But, then again, when is bad things happening to terrorists ever not funny, especially when it's something they themselves cause? Like that moron that posted a selfie in front of a Daesh HQ on Twitter, which US intelligence used to locate and bomb the building. Spartan198 (talk) 17:59, 28 July 2019 (EDT)

Simon's Toy?

Anyone know what Simon's Toy gun was based on?

I think there may have been two, one in the briefcase and another in his trailer when calling helen.

Haven't seen it in a while but if I remember, I think the one is the suitcase that Helen opened was possibly a 1911 styled aisoft and I think it was two-tone. The one Simon was shooting in his trailer was I believed based off a Beretta. I think it was also two-toned. --ThePotShot 16:04, 22 June 2010 (UTC)
Looks more like a S&W to me. Kornflakes89 16:57, 13 April 2011 (CDT)

Falling MAC-10

Most times when a gun is dropped, it's a rubber prop.

I wondered if the MAC-10 falling down the stairs is fake and flashes and shells added in post production.

Nope, it wasn't a fake gun; it's a real MAC-10 that was actually dropped and rigged electronically to fire while falling. This is, as you say, not standard practice, but for this particular movie, it was necessary. Long Mountain Outfitters has a picture of the MAC-10 that was used in that scene, here: [1]
If you look at the picture on LMO's site, you can even see that the MAC's front sight is slightly bent, a sign of being dropped. Of course, the front sight is replaceable, but it seems that Stembridge decided to leave the gun as-is. -MT2008

Arnie's Glock

Is it just me, but the Glock 17 used by Harry Tasker looks more like a glock 19

- Uh.. I think it is.. Seems there's some kind of mis-match between info and title -

Glock 17

In the beginning of the film, Harry Tasker (Arnold Schwarzenegger) uses a 2nd Generation Glock 17 pistol to shoot the guards pursuing him from the mansion. In the script, the gun was classified as a Glock 21 .45 ACP, but it was changed to a Glock 19 for the film, likely due to the larger magazine capacity.

You call this a glitch? :b Heh, I'm sure it's just an overlook. I'll go ahead and fix it up - I agree that the gun is a 19 also. Big as Arnie is, the gun still seems kinda small to be a full-size 17. StanTheMan 20:34, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

Missing gun

Simon has a two-tone S&W auto in the briefcase that he leaves with Helen. It has a removable straight back-strap, no ambi safety, squared trigger guard. I think it's a 659, while most have a right side decoker, I've seen some without. I can't add the caps, watched it on Netflix. --Predator20 01:30, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

- He's right though. Granted it's actually shown as a toy in the film, but it looks dead like a real pistol. I don't have a cap either but I'd have to agree with Pred about it being a S&W 659. StanTheMan 15:08, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

Unknown flamethrower

At one point of the movie, Tasker uses an unknown flamethrower to kill the terrorists. Can anyone help me identify it please?--Gunnerboy (talk) 00:51, 19 December 2012 (EST)

It was a Fuel Pump that ignited when Tasker fired his MAC-10 into the stream of Petrol.--Thomas (talk) 07:46, 19 December 2012 (EST)
