- I wouldn't say the scope helps much with the ID, as you can pretty easily add scope mounts onto any lever action rifle. Also, I think Marlin rifles tend to have a barrel that is noticeably longer than the magazine tube, which isn't the case here. - There are a lot of scope mounts out there for Winchesters, mostly they do it by mounting it on the left side of the receiver. I used to have a scoped Winchester 94 (what they called the 1894 post 1964 I think) that had the scope mounted above the ejection port. There are two different version of the 94, the original top eject model that had to have a scout or offset scope (or a mount that redirected the ejecting case), and the later angle eject guns that could have the scope directly above the line of the barrel. Winchester is just my guess though, could be totally wrong. There really isn't much to go on. --commando552 (talk) 17:54, 4 June 2013 (EDT)

Derringer
By process of elimination, I would probably just go with calling it a Remington 1866. It has a rib so it isn't an American Derringer or Bond Arms, the rib isn't vented so it isn't a Cobra, and it is bigger than a .22 so not a Chiappa. The images are not that clear, but I would also guess that it lacks a safety, which most modern versions made by other companies have. --commando552 (talk) 17:36, 4 June 2013 (EDT)
