TOPS Knives Tom Brown Tracker

The "Jungle Knife" is based on the TOPS Tom Brown Tracker, designed by Tom Brown, Jr. and one of the most famous knives ever produced by TOPS. Similar to the above First Blood Part II knife, Tom Brown, Jr.'s logo and signature can be seen on some versions of it.

The huge update

Categorization

For the record, *I* divided the handguns up, as it's generally what we go when a handguns section has both pistols and revolvers and gets too large (which doesn't happen on 'most' pages). Same goes for rifles if it can be done in a decent not-so-wonky fashion. My understanding is organization and ease of reference > 'simplicity'. That being said, I suggest putting the 'default' assault rifles into an assault rifle category and move everything else (Mini 14, Rx4 and probably a couple others) into another 'Rifles / Carbines' section in addition with the ones currently in the 'Battle Rifle' category. Among other things I think the 'battle rifle' classification is likewise improper for a couple of the pieces in that section. Eh, just a suggestion. StanTheMan (talk) 14:13, 1 December 2018 (EST)

^ Well said. I brought up the handguns' topic just to show how it was weird that the user insisted on keeping 50 assault rifles & carbines in a single section, and yet didn't say a thing about a noticeably lower number of handguns being in two sections. Now regarding the rifles, tbh it seems a bit weird to have the battle rifles and carbines together while keeping the assault rifles separated from them, even though the ARs (to some extent) bridge the gap between the two. So IMO the best option would be to separate the rifles/carbines/battle rifles as I did in my initial edit (and of course re-split the handguns). --Ultimate94ninja (talk) 09:38, 2 December 2018 (EST)

Impossible to add reskins

Editing this article is very tiring for me, due to all the different firearm images I need to add. Despite that, I would sure like to add reskins of the weapons. But unfortunately that would take up too much space as there are a ton of them, so I decided against that. No problem with not covering all the reskins. I would personally argue that the reskins shouldn't be on the main page (Talk page maybe) since they are formatted in a really wonky way and doesn't contribute much to the topic of weapon coverage. --Wuzh (talk) 17:33, 1 December 2018 (EST)

Rather than gun reskins, I would rather post melee weapons in the discussion page. Not really sure this can be considered an M231

The "M231" in the game appears to have a barrel even shorter than a Mk 18, RIS handguard and an M4 flat top upper as opposed to the M231's 15" barrel, screw-threaded handguard and sightless slickside upper. The M231's wire frame stock can be put on any AR-15 pattern rifle. This leaves only the in-game gun being named "231" (with a square in front of it, for some reason) linking it to the M231, which as video games go isn't really anything to swear by.

And as an addendum, I think the "M4A1 CQBR" should be merged into the Mk 18 Mod 0 entry. While they're technically different platforms from a military supply standpoint (the CQBR is an add-on upper receiver used in place of an M4's standard upper, while Mk 18s are factory-built using surplus A1 lowers), IMFDb considers them one and the same for simplicity's sake. Looking at it, I'm pretty sure that it was based on an airsoft "M231" or something of the sort; a quick search for "airsoft M231" gives several guns that look almost identical (like the G&P WOC Tank), with the only differences being in the probably-recycled receiver model. We could probably list it as "M231" (quotes and all), and then explain what it actually is, with a picture of a real M231 for comparison. And yeah, I'd agree that the M4 CQBR and Mk. 18 should be merged, since an M4 with a CQBR upper effectively is a Mk. 18. Pyr0m4n14c (talk) 14:20, 24 December 2020 (EST)

I'm thinking this is the exact airsoft gun it's based on.
