Neither of the entries here actually has a real Bergmann Model 1896, only mockups, so do they really count? Shouldn't they be listed as P38s if they are, in fact, actually P38s? --funkychinaman 12:09, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
I think this page should be deleted and the list should be moved to the P38 section as Mocked up as Bergmann Model 1896 Excalibur01 03:37, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
- the problem is that there is VALUE in at least outlining what these guns are supposed to be. I have never seen a Bergmann in armorer inventory ever and the fact that it's uber rare and pretty expensive is probably the case. But I do find it interesting to know what these mockups are supposed to be. But that's just my two cents. I would prefer to have the page, if only to explain to the curious public that 'that Bergmann they thought they saw, was indeed NOT a real one'.... MoviePropMaster2008
- Yes, but you can't escape from the fact that this is an entry for a firearm that has never actually appeared in any movie, or at least not in the two listed. And if I may cite some precedence, in regards to the Stg44s mocked up as M16s in those Soviet films, those are listed on the Stg44 page, not the M16 page. But since, unlike those guns, this is unique, maybe put the title in quotes? --funkychinaman 05:11, 23 November 2010 (UTC)

- I'd like to see it stay, though it would be great if we could add a picture of the mock-ups. Incidentally, if you wanted to be the first one to have one in a movie armory I know where there's one in 5mm I've repeatedly come close to buying for $3K Can. - Nyles
About the mocked up models vs replicas
I removed the Walther P38-based Bergmann mockups from this page but kept The Mandalorian entry because the gun from The Mandalorian was more clearly trying to be a Bergmann 1894, and doesn't have a known base firearm, while the P38-based mockups play more loosely with what model are they trying to depict, and do have a clearly identified base firearm. It's like the StG 44 based ArmaLite mockups; we document these on the StG 44 page and not the AR-15 page. --Wuzh (talk) 16:38, 24 February 2020 (EST)
