Talk:Astra 960

The gun used in "Lunatic: a Love Story" is a S&W Model 15, not an Astra 960. Thus, I've modified the page.

Merge with 357?

Anybody else think this should be merged with the Astra 357 page? As far as I can tell they are basically the exact same gun so it is impossible to tell them apart for ID purposes. The only difference is that the 960 is chambered for .38 Special, however unlike other manufacturers like S&W, in this case the .38 gun uses the exact same from as the .357 with both being based on the S&W "N" frame so there is no visible external difference. The only physical difference is that the interior machining of the chambers of the two is different to accommodate the two case lengths (from searching online it also seems that some 960s had the .357 cylinder anyway, they were just proofed only to .38 Special pressures). --commando552 (talk) 20:06, 18 September 2014 (EDT)

Given both their limited number of appearances and the fact they are essentially the same weapon (certainly of the same series), makes sense to merge them like we do with other guns - I don't see why not. StanTheMan (talk) 20:59, 18 September 2014 (EDT)
