MG17
Here is an image of the MG17 Ground conversion from a website, I've included the link below. The distinctive grips are clear in this picture. As with many surplus Luftwaffe machine guns these weapons were converted late in the war for use as ground guns. Most sources state that these guns were supplied to Luftwaffe infantry units and I have not found any mention of the MG17 being used by the Kriegsmarine. Many surplus Luftwaffe guns were used on U-Boats for AA defence so their use here may not be totally out of place. --Maskedweasel (talk) 10:49, 11 July 2014 (EDT)
