Deputy Sheriff Lamb finds the S&W 10HB while searching for Pruitt.
Though he never draws it and it is seen only briefly, Deputy Sheriff Jackson Lamb seems to have a M1911A1 with linear housing or similar single-stack automatic pistol holstered on his belt, which is unusual for a cop in the seventies.
The grip safety is very clearly seen in this shot.
