When Dr. Leonard McCoy (DeForest Kelley) visits Admiral James Kirk (William Shatner) in his apartment in San Francisco, several antique flintlock pistols can be seen on display on the wall of Kirk's living room. This set, complete with the weapons adorning it, makes a second appearance in the 1984 sequel Star Trek III: The Search for Spock.
